About Me

Sharlyne Carla

Sharlyne Carla Rogers (formerly Sharlyne Thomas) is an award-winning author, inspirational speaker, and professional editor who has served as an intercessor since 2003, edifying the Body of Christ through prayer and exhortation. In addition to being a narcissistic abuse survivor, she has published eight non-fiction books thus far: When Heaven Hears Your Prayer, How Great is Your Faith? I See What You’re Saying! P.E.P. (Prayer + Encouragement = Power), That’s Not God - How to Transition from Religion to Relationship, The Biblical Guide to Critical Thinking, Fear? NOT! and her latest book titled Who Is God to Me? Three of her e-books are included in the Nonfiction Collection of the Indie Florida Anthology; and one or more of her books are available at the Jacksonville Main Public Library, the Victoria Public Library on Grand Turk Island, and the Java Blue Café aboard the Carnival Sunrise cruise ship. Sharlyne utilizes her gifts and talents via Spirit of Excellence Writing & Editing Services, LLC, contributing articles to magazines such as IBA Success and Built to Prosper, updating resumes and bios, and editing and proofreading various copy for a broad range of writers and organizations worldwide. Her company earned Honorable Mention for the 2025 Best of Florida Business & Creative Services in the Publications category, and she was named Author of the Year in 2013 and Most Likely to Succeed as a Best Selling Author in 2023. Sharlyne contributed to the script for The Turnaround movie, which has won and been nominated for multiple awards such as Best Screenplay at the 3rd Annual WideScreen Film & Music Video Festival. As an entrepreneur, Sharlyne serves as a SCORE Mentor to counsel current and aspiring small business owners. She is also a Branch Councillor with Foresters Financial, ensuring a culture of volunteerism and philanthropy in her local community. Sharlyne has been invited to speak and teach at a variety of community and ministry events, including Destined for Destiny Women’s Institute and the Central Florida Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast. She has judged four local beauty pageants and been a guest on several radio, TV, and podcast shows such as WOKB 1680 AM, Rejoice 1140 AM, Point of View on the Afrotainment Channel, and Atlanta Live on WATC TV 57. Her interviews include Freedom Fridays Show with Dr. Heather Tucker, Doctor2Doctor with Dr. Rhonda Shaw, and Black Authors Matter TV with Gwen Richardson. Expanding her creativity to stage and screen, she has ministered with a dance team at the International Pastors and Leadership Conference and acted in a Christian hip-hop video, gospel play, short and feature films, and commercials. Sharlyne holds an MBA degree in Management, a BS degree in Paralegal Studies, and a Woman and Minority Business Certification from the State of Florida. She is certified in Inner Healing and Deliverance; and she completed Destiny Training Academy’s Five Fold Ministry School/School of the Prophets, a year-long course at Legacy Leadership Institute, and a group coaching program in Spiritual Warfare, Discipleship, and Abuse Recovery. Sharlyne is also a member of the Central Florida Writers and Publishers Guild and Watchmen on the Wall Global Prayer Network. Born and raised in Southern California, she now lives in Northeast Florida.
